Among the organizations that are highly depending on volunteers are Boy Scouts/Girl Guides, Big Brother/Big Sister, Golden Agers, Yorkton Arts Council, Godfrey Dean Art Gallery, Yorkton Exhibition Association, The Health Foundation of East Central Saskatchewan, and many more. Volunteer opportunities exist for those willing and able to help with programs, and to serve on boards of directors.

Those with an interest in voluteering in the community will be able to find an organization that suits their interests, and which needs volunteers to conduct their activities.

Immigrants with a good knowledge of English and a second language may be interested in volunteering at Sunrise Health Region to act as translators between staff and patients who do not have a good command of English. Click here for volunteer opportunities in the health region.

Fraternal organizations and their auxiliaries include Army Navy & Air Force Veterans, BPO Elks, Knights of Columbus, Masons, UCT and the Royal Canadian Legion. Social service organizations active in the community include the Society for the Involvement of Good Neighbours (SIGN) and the Saskatchewan Abilities Council.

As well, most of the youth-oriented sports organizations would not exist were it not for volunteers. See our Parks, Recreation and Sports page for a more complete list.

If you wish to volunteer for an organization, please contact that organization directly.
