City Services

The City of Yorkton provides a wide range of services to its residents, related to ensuring that home owners and renters have the necessary amenities to enjoy a good standard of living, and that businesses can start and operate to serve the residents of the city and surrounding region.

Services provided by the city including fire protection, policing, operation of the landfill, issuing of building permits and inspection of new construction, provision of water and sewer services, operation of the cemetery, community development, parks and recreation programming, economic development and much more.

The administrative centre for the city is at City Hall, on the corner of Third Avenue and Smith Street. The city detachment of the RCMP is located there, and residents can pay their taxes and water bills in the main lobby. City Council meets on the first floor, and most administrative services are located on the second floor.

Other city administrative staff is located in various other buildings in the city, including the Gallagher Centre on West Broadway, the Gloria Hayden Centre in the east end of the city, and the Public Works Department on York Road.

Children enjoy the spray pool in a city park.
